Welcome to Fall! Temperatures have cooled a bit, but the housing market remains RED HOT! The inventory squeeze continues to push Kansas City deeper into a seller’s market and prices are gapping upwards. The confluence of low inventory, record low interest rates and a trend towards work-from-home are all driving the market upward. A real challenge remains in the area of appraisals which do not fully reflect the strength of the market. I am hearing more and more (and experiencing) challenges with appraisers as they seek to justify higher sale prices. This is one area where I can provide value to my clients: navigating the appraisal maze.
