Fall has finally arrived in Kansas City! Cooler temperatures, beautiful Fall foliage and Chief’s football are the talk of our town. This is my favorite time of year in the Midwest. Stable weather means more fun outdoors and the opportunity to explore. Be sure to get in a hike at Weston Bend State Park and visit the nearby Apple Festival in Weston on October 2nd. This is a great family activity and Weston is a charming Midwestern town.
The real estate market remains stable too. After a slight pause in showing activity following the start of school, buyers are back and homes are selling quickly. I expect that prices will begin to moderate some after an amazing run over the past few years (especially 2021!). Home prices ultimately depend upon buyers’ ability to afford mortgages. While wages are increasing, they are not expected to keep pace with the rate of appreciation in local home prices. At some point, prices will have to moderate.
This is still a great time to take advantage of a seller’s market and cash in on the shortage of inventory. If you or someone you know is considering selling a home, please share my number with them. I am always available to consult. Have a fantastic month of October and GO CHIEFS!
